Introduction to Patchwork


This course will give you all the tips and techniques you need to carry out patchwork and quilting projects confidently.

Over 6 weeks, you will make and repeat 3 different simple blocks to piece together as a small quilt, using a quilt as you go technique to add a border, finishing off with a binding.

  • Stitching in the ditch
  • chain stitching for speed and efficiency

  • Free motion stitching
  • Backing a quilt
  • Quilt as you go technique
  • Binding a quilt edge
Fabrics NOT included – you will be given a list of materials prior to the start of the course so that you can buy fabrics to suit your tastes.  The finished quilt size will be approx 1.2m x 1.2m

Maximum of 6 per class will give you plenty of time to get all the support you need.

This class is suitable for beginners to sewing but you must be able to use a sewing machine confidently.  Please see the Learn to use a sewing machine class if needed
