Zero Waste Pinafore Dress

Tutor Jane Gordon

This is a Zero Waste sewing project using a pattern designed by Jane Gordon.

With a Zero Waste pattern, you end up with NO waste fabric at all.  From your fabric, you will cut all of the pieces to make the dress.

The sewing together of this pattern cleverly assembles the pieces and incorporates decorative top stitching details and multiple pockets.  The pattern covers many sizes and different lengths

What will you create

In this 1.5 day class you will learn how to make a pinafore dress using a zero waste pattern cutting technique.

You will make a dress in your chosen size and length

Day 1 – 4 hours

preparing your fabric and taking measurements.

Drawing your bespoke pattern onto your fabric and also onto paper if you require a permanent pattern

Day 2 – 6 hours

Sewing together your dress.  We aim to complete to full dress in this session but everyone sews at different speeds and their sewing ability is different so there may be some finishing touches to take away and finish at the end of the session.  You will leave knowing all of the steps to complete this dress, ready to wear.
