Sujaya Mahesh has been devoted to embroidery from an early age—initially inspired by her mother and later enriched through formal studies in Home Science. After teaching Textiles, Clothing, and Interior Design at Mount Carmel College in Bengaluru, India, for 18 years, she founded Sameeksha Studio and School of Embroidery.

Committed to reviving the fading art of Indian hand embroidery,  Sujaya has developed a rich curriculum that not only preserves heritage but also empowers women through skill-building and self-reliance.

Sameeksha is more than a school—it’s a movement to sustain and celebrate India’s embroidery traditions. Sujaya views embroidery as a legacy lovingly passed down through generations and sees her mission as both cultural preservation and women’s empowerment.
