Patchwork Jersey Top

Patchwork jersey top

Tutor – Jane Gordon

We have some fabulous small pieces of donated jersey fabrics.  Perfect for putting together to make a patchwork top. Other style options available

It’s a great chance to practice using an overlocker and cover stitch machine to complete a garment.  And to up-cycle some fabric into a unique garment too.

What You Will Learn

  • Patchwork techniques for clothing patterns
  • overlocker sewing techniques
  • How to read and follow a sewing pattern
  • The aim is to end up with a finished patchwork top
  • We work in a relaxed and un-rushed atmosphere to achieve a quality finish.  If you like to work particularly slowly then Jane will give you all the guidance to help you finish off at home.

What’s included

  • Sewing patterns
  • All fabric is available from the Recraftery store.  The aim is to use up what we have been donated.  You may bring your own jersey fabrics with you to use if you wish.
  • Refereshments
  • Use of all of our sewing machines, cutting table, threads and equipment such as scissors etc

NOT INCLUDED

  • Lunch – please bring your own lunch or order lunch from the lovely Popsy’s cafe which is in the building

Please note, you will be very welcome to arrange a visit the studio in advance to the class and have a look at the fabrics that we have in our Re-Craftery store where you can find up-cycled and new fabrics donated by businesses and individuals to divert the fabrics from landfill.  We ask for a small charity donation for fabrics found and used from our store.  We also have a big stash of buttons (may not be matching!)
