Jenny will be teaching you how to make a very popular and practical slouchy tote bag.  The perfect design to go with any outfit.

This project is for confident beginners.  If you are able to set up your sewing machine and have explored a few simple sewing projects and are now ready to adventure a little further into zips and bags then this is the class for you.

Course Overview

This one day course will teach you all the basic skills of bag making.  Taking the simple tote bag and elevating it by adding more advanced techniques such as an inserting a magnetic fastener and a zip pocket, boxing off the base and sewing a curved seam.

What you will learn…

During this course, you will acquire the following skills:

• How to select the appropriate fabrics for bag making
• Cut out pattern pieces, minimising waste
• Use lining and/or interfacing
• Create an inner pocket
• Creating box bottoms in lining and outer
• Turning and top stitching handle
• Sew, trim and top stitch curved seams
• Insert a magnetic fastener
• Securing box bottoms together
• Closing gap in lining.
