I visited the Fashioned from Nature exhibition at the V&A in London in 2018 and discovered the book ‘Zero Waste Fashion Design’ by Holly McQuillan and Timo Rissanen. Ever since, I have been fascinated with Zero Waste Pattern Cutting and have been exploring the work of other zero waste designers and developing my own ideas, designs and samples.
My overall aim is to design patterns for the home sewer so they can follow simple steps to create their own fit zero waste garments.
This process inspires me so much because of my desire to reduce the amount of perfectly good material going to waste.
You can find some of my patterns in my online shop and I have many more in the design and sample phase
